Overview
Are you a student eager to build your marketing portfolio and gain hands-on experience? We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to join our fun team! This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, content creation and digital marketing. You will assist in managing our social platforms, creating engaging content, and analyzing performance metrics to grow our online presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Roles: Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling content across various platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- DM Support: Online Support for brand channels.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices. Share insights with the team to help us stay ahead of the curve.
- Community Building: Identify opportunities to grow our community in the event space, such as engaging with other event agencies, venues, participating in relevant conversations, and fostering a positive and inclusive online environment.
- Inspiration Sourcing: Research and curate visual inspiration from social media, blogs, and other relevant sources to help inform the shot list and overall creative direction. Present mood boards and visual references to the team to guide the look and feel of upcoming shoots.
- Meeting Participation: Participate in client meetings as needed, taking detailed notes and ensuring that any tasks or follow-ups are clearly understood and documented. Provide support to the account manager in coordinating and scheduling meetings or calls.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, GCM, Event related program
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and trends
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or other content creation tools is a bonus
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics) is a plus
- A keen eye for brand aesthetics and storytelling
- Self-motivated, quick learner, and proactive in managing tasks
Additional Information:
- This is a semester-long internship/ co-op designed to align with school internship/ co-op programs. There is potential for growth within the role.
- Compensation: $500 honorarium (paid at the end of the semester or distributed monthly).
- Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, with a focus on creating 3 high-quality social media posts and actively engaging with our online community.
